Accounts Assistant (Junior)

Basis: Full time - Permanent (37.5 hrs pw)
Salary: National Minimum Wage
Location: Working from our Wrexham Offices

Job Description

A junior accounts assistant is required to join our growing practice, supporting the delivery our accountancy services accurately and efficiently to a variety of clients of all sizes.

Experience is not essential as there will be a programme of on the job training provided, however familiarisation of spreadsheets and an eye for detail are key skills.

Working efficiently to deadlines as part of a team, this is a varied role for a personally organised individual, who would like to start a career within accountancy.

Job responsibilities

  • Data processing:
    • Entering Sales
    • Entering Processing Purchases / Expenses
    • Entering bank transactions
  • Basic payroll support
  • Answering telephone calls
  • Filing
  • Other administrative duties

Minimum qualifications

  • GCSE Maths & English Grade 4 / 5 (Grade C Equivalent)

Familiarisation of

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Additional skills required

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Personally organised

Working : The role is based at our offices in a COVID secure environment, which is currently closed to the clients / general public at this time. Please note that remote / home working is not an available option for this position.

Hours of work are : Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm - This is a permanent position

Accounts Assistant (Experienced)

Job Description

An experienced accounts assistant is required to join our growing practice, delivering our accountancy services accurately and efficiently to a variety of clients of all sizes. Experience of computerised accountancy packages (desktop and cloud based), working with spreadsheets and an eye for detail are essential skills.

Working to deadlines, prioritising workloads and dealing directly with clients, this is a varied role for a personally organised individual.

Job responsibilities

  • Raising Sales Invoices
  • Processing Purchases / Expenses
  • Prepayment, Accrual and Depreciation tracking
  • Preparing and posting Journal Entries
  • Bank reconciliations
  • VAT Returns
  • Filing

Essential Experience of

  • Quickbooks, Xero or Sage Cloud Accounts
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Additional skills required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Personally organised

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
